The Champions League gift of Elliot for Milan

If AC Milan qualify for Champions League, Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is going to be Elliott Management’s gift for the team.

TRANSFER NEWS MILAN – Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is Elliott Management’s top target for the summer. According to Tuttosport the Serbian midfielder is going to be the gift of the American ownership for the Rossoneri if Champions League qualification is achieved this season.

If everything goes as planned, AC Milan will make a revamped attempt at the end of the championship. The Rossoneri tried to land Milinkovic-Savic last summer but without success.

Despite the lack of official confirmation Milan made a concrete offer for the 24 year old before the start of the season. In the last days of the summer transfer window the new ownership proposed a loan move with the right to buy. The total fee of the operation would have been 120 million euros plus a player in exchange.

Only for the loan Milan were willing to pay 40 million while the player to take the opposite track should have been one between Giacomo Bonaventura, Fabio Borini or Riccardo Montolivo. If Lazio had accepted Milinkovic-Savic would have been the most expensive transfer in the history of Serie A leaving Cristiano Ronaldo in second place. President Claudio Lotito refused because he had promised coach Simone Inzaghi that the midfielder would not move.

It’s been a season of immense frustration for the midfielder

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

In the meantime things have changed. Because from the 12 goals and 4 assists of the previous season, Milinkovic-Savic has found the back of the net in just 3 occasions and has provided 3 assists. These numbers have influenced a lot his market value and now Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is worth no more than 80 million. The other dream, concludes the newspaper, is Federico Chiesa of Fiorentina.
